H.E.R. Mentoring is a fun, interactive mentoring program
that takes place in a group setting. Sessions take
place every 4th Wednesday at 7pm, and are led by a team of
women facilitators. H.E.R. provides a safe environment
for young ladies to express and challenge themselves as they
explore and receive guidance in the following areas:
Spiritual, Emotional, Social, Personal, Mental, Cultural,
Historical, Political, Economic, and Physical Health.
Our mission is to nurture and guide young ladies
as we help affirm that they are fearfully and wonderfully
made in God's image and to continually be aware of their
worth as a loved child of God.
Topics include: Self Esteem, relationships,
life skills, etiquette, hygiene, careers, education,
appropriate vs. inappropriate behavior, money management,
peer pressure, God and more. Field trips and outings
are scheduled throughout the year to compliment these
topics. There are also sessions for parents.
Program Requirements:
Age: 11 – 19 years old
Commitment:
At least one year
Class Attendance: Mandatory, unless pre-arranged,
attendance will be tracked.
Registration:
To register, all young ladies must fill out a
Contact/Information form making a
commitment to complete the program.
A participation point system will be used for
acknowledging consistent and diligent involvement.
Parental Involvement:
To enhance the effectiveness of the program, parents may be asked to donate a
small portion of their time during the course of their daughter’s year long
commitment with H.E.R.
Events:
There will be field trips scheduled throughout the year
as well as special presentations by professional experts. .
